Rinse 1 cup of Basmati Rice in cold water to remove excess starch.<br>2. Combine with 1.5 cups of water, 1 Tbsp of oil (optional) and a dash of salt (optional) in a pot and bring to boil.<br>3. Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes or until water is absorbed.<br>4. Remove from heat and allow to stand for 5 minutes.<br>5. Fluff with fork and serve.</p><p>Chicken, beef, or vegetable broth may be used instead of water for all basic cooking instructions. If using broth, do not add salt. More liquid will result in softer rice and less liquid will result in a firmer rice.</p>
